Hometown Christmas Coming to Monaca this Saturday

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, the holiday spirit is in full swing.  With the Monaca #4 Volunteer Fire Department officially selling their trees, the next holiday event is right around the corner for Monaca residents.  The Monaca Recreation Board is proud to announce that Monaca’s annual Hometown Christmas will be held on Saturday, December 5th from 2:00 – 5:30.

Beginning at 2:00, Santa will arrive at the Monaca Borough Building to start the festivities for the children of Monaca.  He will be available for children to talk to from 2:00 – 4:00.  There will be gift bags for all of the children, cookie decorating, and Christmas crafts as well.  In addition to this, families will be able to partake in horse drawn carriage rides that will depart from in front of the Whitehouse restaurant.  If all of this wasn’t enough, there will also be face painting and balloon sculptures.

The festivities will then move from the borough building to the George Washington plaza starting at 4:00 p.m. when Christmas music will begin playing.  Then at 5:00 the Christmas parade will begin featuring Santa, his elves, the Snow Prince & Princess, decorated fire trucks, and more.  The evening will culminate with the lighting of the plaza Christmas tree at 5:15 p.m.
